The Kelemen Quartet is one of Europe’s leading chamber ensembles, renowned for its exceptional artistry, profound musical insight, and compelling performances of both the classical and contemporary string quartet repertoire. Following a three-year hiatus, the ensemble returned in a new formation, bringing together four internationally acclaimed musicians: violinists Barnabás Kelemen and Jonian Ilias Kadesha, violist Katalin Kokas, and British cellist Vashti Mimosa Hunter.
The quartet’s members enjoy distinguished international solo and chamber music careers, performing regularly at the world’s leading concert halls and festivals. Together they have appeared with some of the finest musicians of their generation, while the ensemble itself has earned widespread recognition for its artistic integrity, technical brilliance, and expressive depth.
Deeply rooted in the Central European musical tradition, the Kelemen Quartet is particularly celebrated for its interpretations of Béla Bartók’s six string quartets, works that stand at the heart of the ensemble’s artistic identity. Alongside the masterpieces of the classical repertoire, the quartet remains committed to exploring new artistic collaborations and presenting chamber music at the highest international level.
