Rohmann Ditta is a versatile and innovative cellist renowned for her exceptional artistry and dynamic stage presence. Seamlessly integrating her vocal talents with her cello performances, she explores a diverse repertoire that spans from Baroque masterpieces to contemporary compositions, world music, and improvisations.

Beyond her traditional four-string cello, she also performs and records on a five-string cello, expanding the instrument’s expressive possibilities.

Ditta’s educational journey includes studies at the New England Conservatory in Boston, the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest under Miklós Perényi, and the Basel Academy of Music with Ivan Monighetti. Her dedication to teaching is evident in her roles as a professor at the Liszt Ferenc Academy since 2018, where she has led the cello department since 2020, and at the Lucerne University since 2023. She frequently conducts masterclasses, emphasizing improvisation and sound painting as integral components of musical expression.

Her discography features five solo albums, notably encompassing the complete works for cello by J.S. Bach, which have been critically acclaimed and recognized by Gramophone magazine as exemplary interpretations. Ditta’s holistic approach to music and education fosters a harmonious balance between body, mind, and spirit, aiming to nurture a healthy and creative new generation of artists.
